MARTIAL ARTS PROGRAMS
A great class for 3-5 year olds, this class concentrates on coordination, socialization, listening skills, and physical fitness. It also provides an excellent base for the kids to evolve into the older children's program.
This class concentrates on learning the values, codes and principles of martial arts, along with self defense, physical fitness and the achievement of individual goals. As many of our students set a goal to become black belts, we make it our mission to help them develop essential leadership skills, while encouraging discipline and integrity in our youth.
Our Teen/Adult Karate Class emphasizes values, principles, theories, beliefs and ethics of the martial arts, placing heavy concentration on physical training. This class explores aspects of martial arts such as Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Grappling and Self-Defense.
BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU
The emphasis of this class is on ground defense in order to control an opponent from various scenarios. By using leverage and proper form, most notably by utilizing non-striking techniques, it teaches that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defense against a bigger, stronger assailant.
THERIEN JIU JITSU
Therien Jiu Jitsu is a practical self defense program designed to teach students combat techniques to be used in an attack situation. Founded by Hanshi John Therien from Ottawa, our curriculum includes joint manipulation, pressure points, throws, takedowns and striking.
Designed to explore the rich heritage and traditions of samurai training, Iaido teaches the skills and history of the art of drawing and using a katana, or samurai sword. The art concentrates on the perfection of skill and proper form.
Kobudo is a martial art that focuses on the traditional weaponry of ancient Okinawa.
Our Shaolin Kung Fu program is an in-depth study of traditional Northern Shaolin Temple arts with a strong focus on self-defense applications. This class works to develop skills in striking, grappling, as well as small joint and pressure point manipulation.
